We are looking for 2nd to 4th year students to round out our 2023/2024 Schulich School of Business Undergraduate Case Competition team!

This team represents Schulich at external case competitions throughout the year. You’ll learn a lot about how to improve your public speaking, develop analytical skills, problem solve under pressure, collaborate to meet stakeholder expectations, and improve your ability to effectively convey strategies in a more structured way to build buy-in.

Students who’ve joined in the past say it has helped them leaps in bounds in interviews as well as prepared them for their careers in ways traditional courses don’t – through as close to real life experience an academic journey can take you! Plus, it doesn’t hurt to be part of a team who consistently places in national and international competitions, right?

More Details:

  • Duration: The team competes between October and June.
  • Cost: Depending on the performance of the team, expenses are partially to fully subsidized by Schulich for participation.
  • Time Commitment: We have peaks and valleys when it comes to active training. The commitment averages out to approximately 10hrs weekly (similar to a Schulich elective course). It can range from 5hrs to 20hrs per week depending on how close we get to competition days.
  • Number of Students Selected: While we’d love to have everyone join, 8 individuals are selected for the team.
  • What do you get from this experience?
    • Something to boast about on your resume or your next job interview
    • Helps prepare you for the real world through honing your presentation, strategy development, structured thinking, and problem-solving skills, to name a few
    • Learn how to effectively work in groups under pressure and tight timelines
    • Networking opportunities – we’ve had several students get leads/job opportunities based on participation
    • Our alumni are very active, so you’ll have opportunities to connect with some excellent contacts in various industries
    • Exposure across the Schulich community and beyond for winning or making finals
    • Some competitions have cash prizes
