Spring is finally here!  One of the best ways to discover some of Canada’s most beautiful natural heritage areas is by spending the night in one of Parks Canada’s many campgrounds across the country.  Parks Canada wants you to start planning a trip to its national parks and historic sites.  If you dream of camping in Canada’s national parks but do not have any camping experience, you can join the Learn to Camp Program which teaches people the basics of camping.

When you register they provide you with equipment such as a tent and sleeping pads through their partner Mountain Equipment Co-op.  The Parks Canada and MEC staff run workshops through the weekend and teach you how to set up a tent, cook around a camp and review all the equipment to bring.  The launch date is June 20 and 21. All information can be found at pc.gc.ca.

Ontario parks also provide Learn to Camp program.  Please click here for more information.
