Exam Season #ProTips: What Happens If I Miss an Exam?

Fall 2020 exams run from Wednesday, December 9 to Wednesday, December 23, 2020 inclusive.

A few reminders…

You can view the exam schedule here, or find exam details specific to your classes on the Schulich Course Offerings website.

If you miss an exam due to unforeseen circumstances, please note the following guidelines to be approved for a deferred exam.

1.  Notify your instructor within 24 hours of missing an exam.

2.  Submit a Deferred Standing Request form within 48 hours online:

• Upload your formal documentation (if applicable)* as part of the deferred standing request.

  • You can find administrative forms in the Academic Forms database in your MySchulich Student Portal
  • You can also download them directly here:
    • Attending Physician’s Statement (not currently required)*
    • Counsellor’s Statement

3.  Student & Enrolment Services will then notify your instructor and cc you by email if appropriate documentation has been received.

4.  A deferred exam date will be communicated by the instructor (or area) after the original exam has taken place. Deferred exam dates are scheduled by the instructor and not at the request of the student. All attempts will be made to hold a deferred exam as soon as possible.
