We’re now entering the stretch of the semester where everyone seems to be freaking out about assignments, tests and finals! The second half of the semester (speaking from my experience last term) seems to be the more stressful one. As we get closer to the tail end of the semester, the workload seems to increase tenfold. So how can you get through this stressful time without losing your mind? Here are some useful tips!
1. Avoid unnecessary stress – What better way to deal with stress than not having to deal with stress at all? Complete all your work on time, and study in advance and you won’t need to sweat at the last minute!
2. Break down your work – Failed at the first step? Well, one great way to deal with stress is to break down your work into manageable tasks! Divide your work into smaller tasks, and take them one at a time!
3. Use it as motivation – Stressed about the major assignment due next week? Use that bottled up stress to drive yourself forward! Let it be the force that keeps you going!
4. Calm down and relax – One of the best ways to handle stress is to take a break! Grab a cup of tea, watch your favorite television show, go for a walk, listen to music, browse the internet, and just forget all the work for a bit. (Just don’t forget it for too long)
5. Be healthy – Did you know that a healthy diet can increase your stress resistance? Enough sleep, regular work outs and a good diet go a long way to reduce and prevent stress effects!
