Sometimes, one decision can change your life. For me, studying abroad in Milano for five months has done exactly that.

I cannot begin to describe how incredible, challenging, and inspiring this experience has been. From devouring pizzas in Italy, to riding a Camel in Morocco. Every church visited. Every lookout point climbed to. Every missed bus. Every sleepless night.

I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

“Traveling has helped me understand who I am, the opportunities available to me, and what I am capable of achieving.”

To anybody considering an international exchange: do it.
It’s intimidating … but do it.
It’s different … but do it.

As someone with minimal international experience prior to this trip, and someone who has never lived away from home, these past five months have given me endless perspective – Both into the world in which we live, and into myself.

Now, ignited within me is not only the drive to travel but the general passion to explore; to approach new experiences and situations with the awe of discovery.

Traveling has helped me understand who I am, the opportunities available to me, and what I am capable of achieving. I will strive to channel and build upon these lessons for the rest of my life.

I will forever be thankful to my family, my friends, hostel acquaintances, strangers and Schulich Exchange for enabling me to make this journey what it was. Everybody who took the time out of their day to Skype me from home, send supportive messages, point me in the right direction, give me traveling tips, or like my posts on Instagram – thank you for joining in on my adventure!

My five months in Milano have come to an end, and yet, this is just the beginning!
