The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship ( Schulich Startups) has teamed up with Professor Farrokh Zandi to unlock exciting work placements that match hand-picked Schulich BBA and iBBA students with top Schulich Startups and other companies in the innovation ecosystem. The MGMT 4850 course is managed jointly by Professor Zandi and Chris Carder, Executive Director of the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Students will have the opportunity to gain relevant
work experience while developing critical thinking and reflecting on the startup’s theories and initiatives.

Next Steps :

Upon completing the application, you will be asked to book a virtual interview with Chelsea Gray, Associate Director of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The interview will focus on your experience, interests, and motivations. You will be matched with the right venture or firm using that
information.

A company match will be proposed if you are selected through the interview round based on your interests and skills and the needs of the founder and company. You will be introduced to the founder if you approve of the match. After you’ve had a chance to meet, the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship will support you with all the internal approvals and remaining paperwork.

Who Is This Course For?

Student Eligibility Requirement:
● BBA/iBBA students only
● The Placement is only available after completion of the first-year courses, subject to approval
from the (Associate) Program Director before the start of the Placement.

What is the Time Commitment & Credit Weight?

This course is available for the Fall term. You will be required to complete at least 180 hours over the
term and earn 3.00 academic credits upon completion.

Your time could be spent working remotely or on-site, depending on the firm. You will need to ensure you have enough time and space in your schedule to meet the obligations of this opportunity.
