Tryouts for the Schulich Undergraduate Case Competition Team are happening October 15th!

You’ve probably heard that case competitions are a lot of fun. It’s true! You get to develop case analysis skills, visit new places and meet people from other schools and countries. The Schulich Undergraduate Case Competition Team represents Schulich in regional, national and international competitions. In addition to networking with leaders, fellow students and alumni, being a member of the case team helps you hone your presentation, problem-solving and groupwork skills.

The Commitment:

  • The Schulich Undergraduate Case Competition team competes between October and April of the academic year.
  • Depending on the performance of the team, expenses are partially to fully subsidized by Schulich for participation.
  • The time commitment averages out to approximately 10 hrs per week (similar to an elective course!). However, your time commitments can range anywhere from 5-20 hours per week depending on how close you are to competition events.

Interested in joining the 2020-2021 Team?

Tryouts are taking place on Thursday, October 15th. All current undergraduate students are welcome to try out for the case team by expressing their interest here. You’ll be added to an e-mail distribution list to receive additional details.

How Else Can I Improve My Case Analysis Skills?

Coaching: Students who elect to not participate in the Undergraduate Case Competition Team, but simply want coaching for a specific competition are encouraged to contact Mona Afrouz (Program Director) at mafrouz@yorku.ca to see if there is any support that can be provided to help them compete more effectively as representatives of Schulich.

Skill Development: To support undergrads who want to compete in case competitions, or simply learn more about how to approach cases, Schulich has created the course MKTG 3150: Business Case Analysis and Presentation Skills Development. Consider enrolling during your years at Schulich, to learn how to  structure your case competition submission(s) and present material effectively. Read about the course here
